Good morning, Canada! Time for another Monday Morning Quarterback - five things making the B.C. office think this week…
1. Tonight is the lone televised leaders debate in this election campaign. Please, make an effort to watch it – our democracy is worth it.
2. Charles Lammam at the Fraser Institute wrote an op/ed that quite fairly encapsulates the Liberal and NDP tax plans: “Pick your poison.” I hear ya, Charles.
3. Ever wonder how much Senators cost you? Check out this great website by the Toronto Star, where you can “mouseover” all 105 Senators and see their expense totals. Warning: this page may induce taxpayer nausea and/or outrage.
4. Look at this nonsense: taxpayers are spending $25,000 to support an anti-wifi book by a Nanaimo author. She’s not a scientist, this is not a scientific review – nor does she plan to be balanced in her writing. It’s ridiculous.
5. This always cracks me up: BCAA is looking for the worst roads in B.C. Hate a particular route? Too much traffic? Too many potholes? Nominate the road here.
Is Canada Off Track?
Canada has problems. You see them at gas station. You see them at the grocery store. You see them on your taxes.
Is anyone listening to you to find out where you think Canada’s off track and what you think we could do to make things better?
